Relaxing piano music

Warm and unhurried, for winding down or reading without rushing.

For the end of the day, not the middle of it

Relax is the gentlest of the recorded channels: mostly solo piano, played slowly, with plenty of space between the notes. It includes Satie's Gymnopédies and a set of quiet meditative pieces, all in unhurried readings that never build to anything.

It works for reading, for the hour after you stop working, for stretching or cooking, and for any time you want the room to feel less empty without a rhythm nudging you along.

Relax, Sleep or Background?

Relax has recognisable melodies and is meant to be pleasant if you do listen. Sleep goes darker and slower, with almost no movement, for lying still in the dark. Background is lighter and a bit more active, for shallow work where you still want some energy in the room.

Questions

  • Is there anything sudden in it?

No. Tracks are chosen for having no sharp dynamic jumps, and the player crossfades between them rather than cutting.

  • Can I use it in a yoga class or a treatment room?

The music is licensed CC BY 4.0, which permits public playback including in commercial settings, as long as the composer is credited. The credits page gives the exact wording.
